Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – Making of Harry Potter” opened on June 16, 2023 at the former site of Toshimaen (a famous amusement park in Tokyo). Visitors can step behind the scenes of the “Harry Potter” and “Fantastic Beasts” film series and experience the amazing world of film production.
I have actually been to the Studio Tour London – Making of Harry Potter, so I will review this experience in comparison.
A Summary of Impressions
- Location: Good because it is a 2-minute walk from the station
- Appearance: Cheap compared to London’s original
- Facilities: 90,000 square meters of land, 30,000 square meters of buildings, twice the area of London, and the largest indoor Harry Potter entertainment facility in the world, so it is highly rated!
- Ticket price: Adults – 6,300 yen, Junior and senior high school students – 5,200 yen, and infants and elementary school students – 3,800 yen, so I think it is not expensive.
- Food: Be prepared to wait in line at the popular FROG CAFE. There is a separate food hall, so you should have no trouble finding something to eat.
- Tours: The entrance time is determined at the time of reservation, but you can stay until 10:00 p.m., the closing time of the museum, so it is very good to have a relaxing tour.

After a two-minute walk, the exterior of the building comes into view. I was excited when I saw it! However, I felt a little disappointed because the real London has a more solemn appearance.

This review will focus on food and recommended souvenirs:)
Food
This time we used The Food Hall located in the lobby. It was the most empty and we were able to get in smoothly. The popular FROG CAFE had a huge line.
The Food HallButtermilk Fried Chicken (1,600 yen) with a crispy batter was delicious:P
Buttermilk Fried Chicken
Shepherd’s pie (1,700 yen) is a meat sauce made with lamb meat and baked with mashed potatoes instead of using pie crust. Even though I am not a fan of lamb, I was drawn in by the name and ordered it. I still felt the smell and would not recommend it to those who do not like lamb. But if you like lamb, it’s worth eating!

The vegeburger (1,700 yen) was light because the patty was made of soybeans. But the taste was delicious.

Slughorn Surprise (1,400 yen) is another dish that Harry Potter fans will want to order. It looks wonderful and tastes very delicious!

Butterbeer costs 1,100 yen per glass, but you can wash the mug (plastic) and take it home. It’s a great way to commemorate the event.

Recommended Souvenirs
Here are some of the many Harry Potter items that I have actually enjoyed buying!
You can buy Harry Potter items at two locations: the Studio Shop and the Railway Shop.
First, the cushion covers! I bought two kinds. The price is 4980 yen per piece.

The other is a Honeydukes mug. The price was 2,400 yen. It is very cute when you put it on the table with sweets in it!
